Statistic's say that MAYBE by the year 2016 there will be no more homeless pets. That's twelve years
from now. But what about NOW? Still, an estimated 12 million animals are euthanized each year in the
United States. That isn't even counting the animals sold for research testing.....a life of torture.
According to an article written in the Detroit Free Press dated January 30, 2002 the Michigan Humane
Society in Rochester Hills just in one year euthanized 26,788 animals. Almost Home wants to make a
difference NOW!!! We want to help as many animals as we can NOW. But we can't do it alone. We need
your help. Please hold hands with us in the fight against EUTHANASIA also known as the "QUICK FIX".
Let's bring them all home with the help of you and Almost Home.
I Am A Shelter Dog

I have a name but no one knows it, for I am a shelter dog. I don't know why I am here but I'm afraid.
I am a shelter dog.I was put in a cage while strangers look in my eyes and scare me. I am a shelter
dog.I have a story just like you, but I can't explain it only my eyes and heart can. I am a shelter dog.
I once may have been loved, abused, neglected, used, starved and worst of all tortured. I am a shelter
dog. I am matted and dirty. I am beautiful but no one sees. I am a shelter dog.
I am old and a bit tired but I still love life. I am a shelter dog. I was brought here because I'm not
house trained. I was never taught I can learn. I am a shelter dog.
I see a nice, kind person... will it be me? They walk away. I am a shelter dog.
I see the dog next to me leave with a worker. He has been here longer then me. He doesn't come back.
I am a shelter dog.
